    Description

This 28 inch rip saw has only the slightest variance from straight, you most likely put it to work if needed. W. McNeice Xcelsior Saw Works is listed in the book from 1870-1883 in Philadelphia PA. I would say by the early style etch and the split nuts this saw is from  the earlier part of that. They would have been competing with Disston in the heyday of Philly saw making, one of the few Disston gobble up. The etch didn't want to show under the patina, light gives it a much rougher appearance than you see in person, It's been cleaned but not in a long time and not overcleaned. Not a super common saw in pretty good condition.
