Vintage STORMONT-ARCHER SHEFFIELD Brass Spine Dovetail Tenon Backsaw 12"

Here we have a
Vintage STORMONT-ARCHER SHEFFIELD Brass Spine Dovetail Tenon Backsaw, 12" Blade.
The Stormont Archer Co. of Sheffield, England operated from 1902-1978 as an edge tool company manufacturing chisels, plane blades, saws, etc.
The brass spine is stamped: STORMONT SHEFFIELD.
This 12" Brass Spine Back Saw is primarily designed for cutting Dovetails or Tenons.
The blade on this saw is in good condition with only minor corrosion marks here and there. There are no chipped or missing teeth. The cross-cut blade is nice and straight with no bends or kinks.
Over the years the blade was worn down to a slightly inclined profile.
The blade is sharp but should be checked before use.
The closed-style 'lambs-tongue' handle is tight on the blade and is held with three saw nuts.  One of these nuts is a brass Medallion nut which is stamped WARRANTED SUPERIOR (see pic).
The handle has minor nicks and wear but NO cracks. The horns are full length.
The blade has No etching. This saw appears to be a 10-11 tpi model. Overall saw length is approx. 17". There are NO owner marks.
