Vintage Henry Disston & Sons #68 - 8" Dovetail Saw– You Deserve the Best?Hello, and welcome to another ODAuction.
This is guaranteed to be an authentic Henry Disston & Sons - 8" Dovetail Saw #68, or your money back including return shipping.
In 1855 Henry Distton built his own furnace and melted the first Crucible Saw Steel ever made in America, becoming a pioneer in fine steel making. From that day on, Disston has been making its own saw and tool steel.
The purpose of a dovetail saw is, as the name implies, to cut dovetails and other fine joints. The No. 68 has a straight, turned handle, and is sometimes called a gent's saw today. Polished Handle, Steel back, Brass Plated, Extra Quality Spring Steel Blade, 1 1/2 inches wide under back, 26 gauge, 17 points. This not just another dovetail saw, it’s a Disston Dovetail Saw.
