For sale is a VINTAGE ATKINS NO. 54 26" 10 POINT SILVER STEEL HAND
STRAIGHT BACK
SAW
in full working order.
The blade is 26" long and the marking
"Atkins, Silver Steel. No 54 Straight Back"
can just be made out on the blade (see pictures). The handle has no cracks, no breaks, no bends.
It does have various scuffs, scrapes, dents etc. consistent with being used as woodworking tool
in a workshop environment. The blade is in good shape and is still reasonably sharp (but could do
with a touch up before serious use). I have resisted the temptation to clean it out in favor of retaining
the original patina. I'll leave it to you to decide how far to go cleaning it up.
All in all a very nice saw that looks great in tool cabinet and still has many years of good service left
in it!
