Henry Disston & SonsNo 7
5-1/2 Point Cross Cut
28 inch workhorse sized
Munger Patent hardware 1880-1990
If you wanna run with the big dogs you need to lift your leg a little higher. This workhorse No 7 is from a game changer time in production when the boys in the UK were sticking with spanner nuts, AKA split nuts and here in the US guys like, Disston, Peace and Richardson to name a few were looking for a better way. The munger patented hardware with one such way. The 1880-90s are also a time when the saws had shapely handles with fine details. The 28" full plate in 5-1/2 point is a great example, perfect for shop use and latter resale if need be.
Freshly sharpened and ready to go out of the box. The saws is stamped and filed filed 5-1/2 point rip. Don't let the longer length throw you off. Longer saws are not harder to use, as some might think. The extra length might need a little more room but it pays off in easier cuts. Overall in nice condition with some small apologies that come with age and a perfect carpentry user. The plate is straight and smooth with a few etched spots and light stains and marks. Light but but readable early factory etch. The handles for a rip saw is near factory, no cracks or repairs made or needed. The backside image might look like the cheek has a crack but that's a surface scratch. Both horns full and you can still see the outline from the sticker it was sold with. Brass hardware is tight to the plate and in good working order.
Have a look at the photos and details below. Let me know if you have any questions.

I take great care in my sharpening process and don't simply sharpen and list. After the saw is sharpened I test cut then tune as needed for best use. 5-1/2 point rips are well suited for all types of woods and general carpentry
. The saw is freshly sharpened with just a touch of slope and fleam to the teeth. Perfect for all types of cuts in the shop or on the job. The No 7 is bar far the most popular model Disston made and make a great users. Disston steel is some of the best you will find at holding an edge.
Please excuse any dust in the pictures the saw will be wiped down before it's mailed. After looking over pics let me know if you have any questions.
WHY BUY FROM ME
The goal with every saw I offer is to bring back the beauty in direct proportion to its overall condition
.Each one is checked before it’s sharpened and tested then tuned as needed. It's true I do this for profit but I've got a passion for saws that anyone who's talked with me know. I stand behind what I sell! It’s as simple as that. If you're not happy contact me and I will refund or work it out. I don’t tend to sell at auction rather I sell a top quality saw at a fare price. It’s what I demand, and what you should as well. My description don't spend time saying I'm the BEST or have a god like ability with a file, I don't trash other seller rather I try and to stick to the topic at hand— some history, details, and a few jokes. I'm very good at what I do because I've learned from others and practice a lot. I have love for what I do and I think if you take the time to read my blog or follow me on social media it come through. NOT SO FINE PRINT
Please carefully review the pictures, I have done my best to describe things as I see them. ALWAYS feel free to email with any questions and I will do my best to answer them. I make every effort to ship next day after payment M-F.
I now use the ebay calculator that allows local customers a better rate then a single flat rate coast to coast.
I'm happy to combined shipping but please contact me BEFORE payment so I can combine
I accept returns up to 14 days
. I do not charge extra for shipping but do charge .50 to cover the cost of the box. These older saws can damage easily and I find it's better to use a custom box rather then recycle ones.
Please take a second to look at this and other saws I offer. I put a good deal of effort into each saw and I want you, the buyer to be happy. E-mail with any issues and I will do my best to resolve them in a peaceful way. Thanks for look and I invite you to read my feedback, It’s a gift and you should bid with confidence based on it.
