They're nearly unnoticeable from any appreciable distance and hardly constitute significant damage to this otherwise wonderful

The portrayed fauna is that of a shot and prone gamebird, nestled amongst dry, autumnal vegetation after the hunt. Of course, hunting, especially in
19th and early 20th century

wasn't frowned upon or portrayed nearly quite as negatively, as it unfortunately appears to be today, in that these gamebirds were widely seen as valued food and prized catches for the dinner table and family soup pot. The figuration of the fauna is masterfully executed and is the work of a clearly experienced and talented artist for
Limoges.
