    Description

    Henry Disston & Sons
    Early No 7
12 Point Ultra Fine Cross Cut
    Panel Saw
    22 inch Plate
    1880s
Nice and early No 7 from the era just after split nuts. The short window when Disston used Monger patent hardware. Most would agree the best looking saws come from this time. The No 7  is a great all-around design and perfect for most sawyers looking for a user in the shop and this one comes with some great history. Check the pictures she's in great shape with some cosmetic apologies and freshly sharpened.
The plate is smooth and clean with a nice readable etch. Some stains and marks viewable in the pictures. The handle is really nice, made from vintage American beech. Note some of the factory label remains as well as both lamb's tongues without chips, something you won't find often. Both horns are  full no repairs made or needed. Note some scratches but otherwise it's a very nice, early example. The Munger patent hardware is tight to the plate and in good working order. The 22" shop friendly 12 point ultra fine pitch was freshly sharpened cross cut with sloped gullets. Lots of life left in this beauty and ready for use out of the box.
Have a look at the photos and details below. Let me know if you have any questions

    ABOUT THE SAW
    HANDLE:
Early No 7 style with nicely figured beech. See pics for details. It's a sold handle, tight to the plate, No big chips, just a few scratches. Some of the paper label remains around the sunken nut medallion. Shes a beauty in great working order. The brass fine Munger hardware is in good working order and tight to the plate.
    PLATE:
Straight and clean with a few stains. The factory etch is complete and nicely readable.
12 point saws are not something you find often and perfect for fine cuts.  I take great care in my sharpening process and don't simply sharpen and list. After the saw is sharpened I test cut then tune as needed for best use
    .
The 12 point ultra fine cross cut was sharpened with sloped gullets. Perfect for use on all woods that require
a fine cut with a clean finish. The fine pitched plate makes cuts on tricky, harder woods a breeze.
Please excuse any dust in the pictures the saw will be wiped down before it's mailed. After looking over pics let me know if you have any questions.
    WHY BUY FROM ME
The goal with every saw I offer is to bring back the beauty in direct proportion to its overall condition
.Each one is checked before it’s sharpened and tested then tuned as needed. It's true I do this for profit but I've got a passion for saws that anyone who's talked with me know.  I stand behind what I sell! It’s as simple as that. If you're not happy contact me and I will refund or work it out. I don’t tend to sell at auction rather I sell a top quality saw at a fare price. It’s what I demand, and what you should as well. My description don't spend time saying I'm the BEST or have a god like ability with a file, I don't trash other seller rather I try and to stick to the topic at hand— some history, details, and a few jokes. I'm very good at what I do because I've learned from others and practice a lot. I have love for what I do and I think if you take the time to read my blog or follow me on social media it come through. That passion I feel tips the scales in my favor and I hope gets you to try one of my saws.  Rest assured if it doesn't go to your liking with mine or another sellers saw I'm here to make it good.
I offer restoration and sharpening services. Please contact me or look me up on the web.
If you like to read more about my process and all things saws please read my blog positiverake or find me on Facebook
    NOT SO FINE PRINT
Please carefully review the pictures, I have done my best to describe things as I see them. ALWAYS feel free to email with any questions and I will do my best to answer them.  I make every effort to ship next day after payment M-F.
I now use the ebay calculator that allows local customers a better rate then a single flat rate coast to coast.
I'm happy to combined shipping but please contact me BEFORE payment so I can combine
I accept returns up to 14 days
. I do not charge extra for shipping but do charge .50 to cover the cost of the box. These older saws can damage easily and I find it's better to use a custom box rather then recycle ones.
Please take a second to look at this and other saws I offer. I put a good deal of effort into each saw and I want you, the buyer to be happy. E-mail with any issues and I will do my best to resolve them in a peaceful way.

Thanks for look and I invite you to read my feedback, It’s a gift and you should bid with confidence based on it.
