EVERSHARP SKYLINE PRESENTATION PEN, BLACK, GFT, LF, NICE COND, c1943

Description

Here's an EVERSHARP SKYLINE PRESENTATION pen from about 1943. It is 5-1/4" long and had great gold filled trim except for tiny spots of brassing at the edges of the high point of the lever... the most vulnerable spot for brassing on Skylines.  Routine E
VERSHARP SKYLINE markings on the clip and clip ring and a good bold, double check emblem  on the clip. Gold filled markings at the base of the metal sleeve on the cap. The pen has not been used awhile and when first tried the sac seemed a little sluggish, but it definitely still takes up a good deal of ink. All plastic components show less than normal wear and look great. One unusual item noted: the breather hole on the cap does not line up with the hole on the gold filled sleeve.  Unless a factory fault (I doubt), the sleeve was loose and someone secured it without regard to the hole. The two solutions I see are, 1) to loosen the sleeve and realign it or 2) simply drill a hole in the cap through the sleeve. Alternatively, it could be left alone.  The nib is marked EVERSHARP (diagonally) 14K and MADE IN THE USA  and has the teardrop shaped engraving around the breather. It is a very clean MEDIUM point with pretty good flexibility. Excellent nib.  No noted defects.
