This is a dazzling Purple Carnival hen on nest.
The glass is a clear deep purple with a heavy carnival finish that radiates a rainbow of bright colors - purple, red, green, blue, teal and even metallic gold and silver.
Just gorgeous!
The hen has her head turned slightly and a split tail. The detail work in the glass is fantastic with tiny pin feathers and silky neck feathers to tiny eggs tucked under the hen's breast. The nest is ribbed. Has a wide flat edge with woven design.
Originally made as a covered candy dish. Makes an excellent jewelry and ring holder.
Stands appx 5" tall and is 6-1/2" long by 5-1/2" wide.
New and in mint condition.
An excellent example of hand made pressed glass.
