Antique Old Chinese Bronze Brass Pot Censor Fu Foo Dog Lion Handles 17 3/4 pound

$ 100.32

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Condition: The condition is much like you see it in the 27 photos after the general conditon. It is generally in very good antique condition. There is a patina that is uneven and spotty. You might notice of rectangular area where the patina is lighter. There was some glue from an old label there that I removed. I think that the greenish white on the handles and elsewhere is probably verdigris or oxidation of the bronze. There are no cracks or breaks There are some tiny dents or irregularities in the surface some of which might be just how it was made. There are also some minor and light scratches. Otherwise, it is fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of its general condition.

    Description

    This listing is for the bronze or brass pot that you see in the photos. I am guessing that it is some kind of bronze but I leave it to the buyer to decide what kind of metal it is. I purchased it at an estate sale in Oregon, USA where I was not told its history. I am guessing that it is from China and that it is possibly old enough to be considered antique. I leave it to the buyer to decide where and when it was made.
    It measures close to 9 ½ inches diameter across the top rim from edge to edge. Measuring across the rim and including the handles gives a width of close to 13 ¼ inches. It measures close to 6 ¼ inches high. For a censor, I think that might be considered large. I do not know if it is a censor or just some kind of pot. It weighs close to 17 pounds 12.2 ounces which to me feels relatively heavy or substantial for its size.

    I guarantee this Chinese pot to be as described and represented by the 27 photos after the general description. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them.
    Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs “close to” because in my opinion no measurements are exact and some things are difficult to measure.
    I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied.
    I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation.
    I frequently purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often but not always ship the same or the next day. Often, I have a double wall box custom made for larger items and that might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually biodegradable. Sometimes, I use used boxes.
    Please email me with any questions or suggestions. I do not ship on weekends. I might not be available to answer email on weekends.
