DESCRIPTION:
Fabulous, rare incense burner totally carved in hard Chinese stone, I think it is a soapstone with a green and red-brown color, rarer and more characteristic than the green one. On the sides of the brazier two dogs of Fo, and the brazier is all pierced by hand, very particular, unfortunately it is damaged, but the object is really very old, as you can see from the patina and wear on the brazier, consider that the piece was also well cleaned before being photographed. Particular representation of the dogs of Fo, usually the female has the puppy under the paw, while the male the globe, which represents the world, if pierced represents purity and uncontaminability, here instead we have the puppy in the center with the pierced globe between the paws. In our opinion the piece is very old, dating back to around the end of 1700, therefore Qing dynasty and Qianlong emperor. Rare piece of extraordinary beauty.
